Description

Licorice root is the dried root of the liquorice plant. The root grows down to about 1 meter in depth, and it must be at least 3 years old before harvest.

Licorice root can be used in herbal teas, which gives it the characteristic liquorice flavor.

History

Licorice were used in China for approx. 5000 years ago, and licorice was found in Tutankhamon’s grave in
Egypt (about 1350 BC).

Licorice contains many vitamins especially from the B group.
